disbelief

Yes, we had more snow today.

Not the kind of snow we had whenever I was a kid either where you had to stand out on the playground with your tongue hanging out for 2 minutes waiting for ONE flake to hit it.

Not the kind of snow that isn't really snow but ICE like we normally get here. You know the kind where you create a "snow ball" with it but it's really like throwing a block of ice at someone and will shatter a car's rear-view mirror. Ahem.

But.. today it was wonderful powdery goodness! I still can't stop looking at the pictures. It's insane and it was absolutely beautiful. I refer to it in the past tense because although it was breathtaking this morning it's pretty yuck out there now. Oh well, it's something us Louisianians won't soon forget! Plus, I have tons of photos to remind us. :)

What a difference a night can make, huh?

I had fallen asleep in Morgan's room after she came and woke us up at 5am so at about 7am JC came into Morgan's room and told us to come and look at the snow. It was amazing! I think I said "WOW!" a gazillion times. Morgan stood in front of the window pointing and yelling "SOW" and "NOOO".. she's trying so hard to learn to say snow. JC still had to go to work today though and that really bummed me out but before he left he ran outside and grabbed some snow for Morgan to touch! :)

Yes, the picture is blurry but in my defense I was probably shaking from excitement!

We spent the morning just hanging out inside in our PJ's, looking out the window and waiting for the temperatures to rise some.

But at 10am I saw a clump of snow fall off of the powerline in front of the house and decided we better hurry up and enjoy it while it lasted. I bundled her up in as many layers as I could squeeze her into and we braved it. I thought it was so cold but she seemed mesmerized and completely oblivious to the cold.

She just kept walking up and down the driveway looking at the ground once I convinced her to get off of the carport. I'm sure it had to be overwhelming to her. I was overwhelmed!

But after a couple of trips down the driveway she decided that she really liked it! I took a lot of pictures of her but it was hard since I didn't have gloves for myself and snow kept falling on my camera. I kept having to try to shield the camera and wipe it off!

She's so beautiful!

She even got brave after a while and wanted to touch it!

Unfortunately, soon after this photo was taken she also decided she wanted to sit in the water on the driveway and play in the snow. Even though we definitely wanted Morgan to see and experience snow we did not want a child sick with pneumonia or a blistered face. So, I halted the picture taking and carried my tantrum'ing child inside as she screamed "SOOOOW Mommy" to strip her of her wet clothes. Yes, I'm mean... but we aren't going to the ER with pneumonia and I already had to coat her down with Aquaphor tonight. Luckily when she woke up from her nap her dry face was so much better already and I think we won't have any blisters. I'm so thankful that her eczema seems to improve more and more as she gets older!

I gave her juice and graham crackers once we were inside and in warm, dry clothes and all was forgiven. :) Sweet girl!

What a beautiful day! I couldn't help but feel sorry for our dog Dakota though.. and the little birds that I'm sure thought they had gone far enough South for the Winter.

Of course, we thought it really sucked that JC had to work in this mess! Ick. We're so glad that he made it home safely, late, but safely and that's what matters the most!

But, now that we've seen snow, touched snow and taken a gazillion photos of snow I'm ready for Spring. Come on Spring!!!
